Is a member of the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade (INTA). He received his PhD in political sciences with a dissertation on the “road economy" in Dakar, Senegal. He was responsible for information at the UN in Afghanistan. In 1991, he left the United Nations and started working at the European Parliament as a political adviser. In 2000, he became one of the secretaries general of the parliament. He is a great promoter of volunteer work. As a member of INTA, Rinaldi handles a number of international trade dossiers as the rapporteur of the free trade agreements with Malaysia and India.
