Omani academic and the former director of the Centre for Gulf Studies at Qatar University
Is an Omani academic and researcher and the former director of the Centre for Gulf Studies at Qatar University. He holds a PhD in political economy with a thesis entitled, “EU-GCC Relations: A Study in Inter-Regional Cooperation”, a master’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in international relations, all from the University of Cambridge. His research interests are international relations; international political economy; Gulf affairs; economic, social and political development in the GCC countries and their foreign relations. Baabood has taught and conducted research at several universities and institutions in Europe, and has published numerous books, articles and conference papers.
