Senior Analyst at the EU Institute for Security Studies, Paris

Dr. Gaub heads the Middle East / Mediterranean programme at the European Union Institute for Security Studies. She works on the Arab world with a focus on strategy and security. In addition to monitoring post-conflict developments in Iraq, Lebanon and Libya, she works on Arab military forces, conflict structures, geostrategic dimensions of the Arab region and intercultural communication. Previously employed at NATO Defense College and the German parliament, she wrote her PhD on the Lebanese army at Humboldt University Berlin and holds degrees from Sciences Po Paris, Sorbonne and Munich universities. She has published several articles and two books on these topics, and has lectured widely with NATO school Oberammergau, Joint Forces Command Naples and several think tanks and universities in the Middle East, Europe and the United States.
